Relationships with siblings, peers and strangers become more and more complex with age, so it is important that we effectively teach our older children the social skills they need to be able to cope with these demands. Using the principles of ABA Harris et al (1990) taught adolescents to offer assistance to someone in need, Palmen et al (2007) improved children’s question asking behaviour and Miller & Neuringer (2000) demonstrated an increase in response variation which could be used to teach conversation skills.
