Dyslexia
Dyslexia may appear from a very early age. There are many persisting factors, including obvious 'good' and 'bad' days, for no apparent reason, confusion between directional words, e.g. up/down, in/out, and difficulty with sequence. There may be a family history of dyslexia or reading difficulties. Your child may have developed their speech later than their peers, or still not have developed appropriate speech. They may jumble their words, not be able to label known objects and struggle with rhyming words and nursery rhymes. Your child may have walked early but not have crawled. He or she may struggle with dressing. He or she may get told off for not paying attention, they may enjoy being read to but show no interest in letters or words. Your child may be clumsy or may struggle with his or her motor skills.
The good news is that there are proven ways to effectively help your child overcome many of their difficulties.
